Educational philosophy in action.
I believe children learn through play.
Play affords children opportunities to learn through imagination, imitation and exploration, all of which enhance their understanding of and connection to the world around them.
Educators and families should work in partnership to achieve the best outcomes for children's development and learning.
Educational programmes are based on observation, documentation discussion and reflection.
I aim to build respectful and trusting partnerships with families which foster mutual support and open communication. My approach to working with families means that, together, we can co-create and sustain more meaningful learning experiences for children. Ensuring that my professional educational plans are consistently displayed for families to view is one way of building these relationships. My planning formats have varied, and will continue to, over time according to the workplace and what is a workable format at that time and I try to ensure there is a space for family comments. If this is not possible I verbally remind families that I welcome their thoughts and ideas regarding their children's learning and add it in to each newsletter piece I write.
Through observation of and reflection with the children and my co-workers I strive to provide an encouraging and stimulating environment where children are able to play, explore and learn. Accordingly I plan a range of experiences that cater for the individual learning styles of the children in the classroom.

The learning and The outcome. It can easily be modified to allow for less observations.
